Richard Zavalla

About Me

Hello, friends! My name is Richard Zavalla but I go by Francis. I am a happily married man of over 5 years and a father to 2 beautiful children (boy and girl).

I am a veteran of the US Marine Corps where I served as an aviation electrician. I was born in New York but I've been a Texan most of my life. My hobbies include camping, hunting, and cheering on my Houston sports teams.

If you get to know me long enough, beware of my corny sense of humor and awful dad jokes. Despite that, I am a really good listener and I understand that no one is perfect. We all have our own problems and deal with them in our own ways.

I have been a nurse for over 8 years now. I went straight to earning my nursing degree after being honorably discharged. I spent the first 5 years of my nursing career in the intensive care unit.

After I became a nurse practitioner, I initially visited patients in their homes where I cared for them physically and mentally. After that, I spent a few months in a primary care clinic where I also treated a diverse population of patients and issues.
